BIG
MAHALO goes to Ted Miyamoto for his presentation at the November meeting
on “How to put together a Flower and Plant Basket”. Ted showed us the materials
needed to put a basket together and how to arrange these items to make
an attractive basket. He said that people appreciate basket arrangements
as gifts because they are specially made and tend to last longer.
Thanks to Kay Patton for her demonstration of making ribbons for the baskets
and Gail Yamanaka who showed how to make a cut flower basket arrangement.
After everyone enjoyed making their group baskets, all the baskets were
auctioned off which gave the club a little more money to the treasury.
Many thanks also goes to the following who donated flowers and plants for
this exercise: Fern Fernandez, Ann Geschwandtner, Reid Kawamoto and
Ben Kodama, Jr. Thanks Ted for donating the many baskets, too.

THANK
YOU Ben Kodama, Jr. for coordinating the wonderful field trip we had on
November 7 at the Kogachi and Kodama nurseries. The members bought
a good collection of various orchid plants at so reasonable prices, too.
It was also nice to mingle with the Kunia Orchid club members who went
on the orchid safari with us.

WISHING YOU AND YOURS
A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS
AND A
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
